Notable excerpts from the interview:

JHK: “Let’s go back to before this fight was put together. Did you know about Lethwei or did you know about Dave Leduc before you signed the contract?”

Seth Baczynski: “I look up whoever they ask me to fight especially in a different sport. But I been wanting to do like a kickboxing match or whatever, kickboxing, Muay Thai. And I still want to get in a pro boxing match in. And this just kind of fell into my lap. I had an open time and it was something new and it was something that I was excited to try. What better opportunity to step in and fight one of the best in that particular sport.”

JHK: “When you go through [Dave Leduc] film, what goes through your mind about his skillset?”

Seth Baczynski: “He is good in areas other people aren’t good in. In my opinion, he is good in some gray areas that people haven’t really been good at or even been good at in recent history. Maybe back in the day when headbutting was legal and not everyone had a cellphone or a way to put it on YouTube. He’s good in a gray area so it is kind of hard to get ready for guys like that meaning if there is nobody good at that kind of thing how do you even get someone to train for something like that. It’s more of a we think this is going to work and we are going to put our defense for this out there and see what happens.”

JHK: “Are you going into this opportunity thinking that it’s a life-changing opportunity?”

Seth Baczynski: “No, I didn’t even think about it at that level at all. The task at hand, you know. One foot in front of the other. And I’m just looking at two bodies, no emotions, just two skeletons.”
