[RANK5=John Hyon Ko] The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced its return to Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA on April 21 at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall for UFC Fight Night 128. The main event will have elite lightweights, Edson Barbosa and Kevin Lee, clashing to get back into title contention.
Barbosa, the 32-year-old Brazilian striker, is coming off one of the worst defeats of his career to the hands of Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 219. Not only did he lose out on a title shot, he also snapped a three-fight win streak where he took out Beneil Dariush, Anthony Pettis, and Gilbert Melendez.
Similarly, the 25-year-old Lee recently came up short against Tony Ferguson for the Interim Lightweight Title at UFC 216 and derailed his run of 5 straight victories. During that span, he finished the likes of Michael Chiesa, Jake Matthews, and Fransisco Trinaldo in convincing fashion.
Both these top-flight 155ers are in the same position and with a spectacular win could put them in the front of the line for a title shot later this year against the winner of Tony Ferguson versus Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223 on April 7.
The rest of the main card consists of Dave Branch versus Thiago Santos, Patrick Cummins versus Corey Anderson, Uriah Hall versus Paulo Costa, and Daniel Hooker versus Jim Miller.
